THE RHETORIC OF US

Thirteen years. Two Screenwriters. One moment that changes everything.

Are Lauren and Vinny really in love, or is their connection just a mind game? Spanning from their teenage meeting at the University of Southern California to their early 30s in the Hollywood machine, The Rhetoric of Us explores the deep connection between these two screenwriters as they struggle with career jealously, infidelity, grief, and their place in each others’ lives — or whether there should be a place at all.

This play made its Los Angeles Premiere on February, 25th, 2022 at the New Collective Theater. Starring Lily Kennedy, Kevin Clayette, Courtney Beyer, Jeffrey Laughrun, and Jill Savel. Directed by Harry Fahn.

2016: HER STORY, HER VOTE

After the gut-wrenching 2016 election that seemed to tear our nation apart from its core, Lily Kennedy interviewed twenty-nine women on how they voted, the stories that influenced their choice, and how they feel about going forward. Using those interviews, she created an emotional, bipartisan narrative of women's issues, focusing on where we are, and where we're going. 2016: Her Story, Her Vote explores the value of respect and working together to create change.
